Wow - we had word Thursday night from our consultant at the adoption agency that our dossier is officially logged in in China! It only took a week!
Now, when she sees a child on their database that she thinks might be a good match for us, she can "lock in" a referral and give us a call. She couldn't do that before we were registered. So, things may move more quickly than we even anticipated!
She called me Friday afternoon with information on a child - but she was already thinking that it wouldn't be the best fit for us. As she put it, she just wanted to give us the chance to say "no", rather than her making the assumption. The little guy was only 7 months old, but he had four separate medical issues and needed surgeries for all of them. This is not something we could do - Brian's insurance isn't that great.
I nearly fell over, though, just at the thought that it could happen so quickly! I think my mind has become so dulled over the past 2 1/2 years of waiting, that I need time for the realization to set in - this could really happen! I could be a mom soon! I can't even begin to put into words how that feels...
We really appreciate the support, encouragement and enthusiasm of all our family, church family and friends. That is what has kept us going through the years of waiting. It's easy to get down and think that it's never going to happen, but when people ask if we've heard anything or share with us how excited they are for us - that's the fuel that we need to keep moving forward. So, thank you all for your continued support and excitement!
Believe me when I say that EVERYONE will know when we hear something! I won't be able to contain myself! Here's hoping that it's soon! :-)
